Alien combatants look to settle an ancient score by using Weir and Sheppard as pawns.
SG-1 is caught in a conflict between two civilizations trying to colonize the same planet. The current inhabitants face destruction by the new visitors. Using two recovered Goa'uld death gliders, Area 51 personnel have created a hybrid vessel that looks like a Goa'uld death glider on the outside, and a jet plane on the inside. Colonel O'Neill and Teal'c take the new craft out for a simple test, but they are soon marooned in space.
Daniel discovers that his mentor, Dr. Jordan, was killed in a lab explosion while analyzing the Osiris Jar, an artifact recently recovered from a "cursed" 1931 expedition to Egypt. Jackson travels to Chicago to attend the funeral and see his friends and former collegues again.
While exploring a now dead planet, O'Neill and the SG-1 team find an orb that sends out electromagnetic signals. They think it is a time capsule of some sort and are intrigued by its power source, which seems to have lasted for millennia. They bring it back through the Stargate for further study.
When Apophis and Heru'er decide to enter into an alliance, SG-1 must try to stop them. Teal'c goes to Chulak in an effort to recruit some of his fellow Jaffa warriors to help fight the Goa'uld. On Earth, Jacob Carter and the SGC receive a transmis-sion from the Tok'ra through the Stargate.
Teal'c's mentor Bra'tac arrives unexpec-tedly through the Stargate with shocking news: the Goa'uld Apophis survived the destruction of his ship and has now kid-napped Teal'c's son, Rya'c. O'Neill and the rest of the SG-1 team agree to join Teal'c as he returns to Chulak to rescue Rya'c.
The SG-1 team must adjust to a new commanding officer, because General Hammond decides to step down as commander of the SGC. Shortly after, O'Neill discovers foul play behind the general's resignation, and he must team up with a former enemy to get to the bottom it.

As SG-1 helps to evacuate the Tok'ra from the planet Vorash to a new base, matters are complicated when a spy reveals their location to Apophis. The team attempts a daring plan to take out the Goa'uld's powerful fleet, but the captured spy soon escapes, jeopardizing their plan.
The SG-1 team, in their stolen Goa'uld mothership, has arrived in another galaxy, 125 years travel from Earth. But they aren't alone. Shortly after their arrival, Apophis' mothership arrived, including Teal'c, who has been shot in the back with a staff weapon, and is presumed dead.
His mind altered by Apophis, Teal'c must undergo an ancient ritual that takes him to the edge of death itself, in order for him to rediscover who he is. Thus, all life on the planet will soon die. The Asgard, who are the protectors of this world, are absent again for some unknown reason.
While exploring BP6-3Q1, O'Neill and the SG-1 team are attacked by giant insects. The team escapes through the Stargate, but not before Teal'c is stung.
